Welcome!

Welcome to my blog, I'm glad you're here!

Whether you're here for resources to help with mental health, learn something new that you didn't know about mental health or a specific condition or take a deep dive into societal attitudes of mental health, you have come to the right place.

Along my journey with mental health struggles, I have noticed that a lot of people often aren't educated in certain mental health conditions yet still have an opinion on people with the condition. Their opinion is often rooted in the stigma or the media representation that we often see in movies and TV shows, that majority of the time isn't truthful to the actual lives people with these conditions live. I want to educate people so this is no longer the case, I want to see a society where mental health conditions also aren't just a word that gets thrown around and people understand that there are real people living with struggles behind that condition.

What can you expect from my blog?

Resources, support lines, and other websites: Whether you have anxiety, depression or another condition I will share techniques that I have tried (e.g. grounding techniques) to help use as a coping mechanism for these conditions as well as studies behind the techniques. I will also share support lines you can use to get professional help as the blog is not here to use instead of professional help. I will also give suggestions/reviews of websites, books etc I personally found useful to me on my mental health journey.

Mental Health in the media: I will take a look at stories in the news, movies, tv shows etc, that give a representation of or talk about mental health and give my opinion on them, and maybe even a rating when it comes to tv shows.

Personal Story: I will share my personal story as a whole, all the little details to show my experience with trauma, mental health and the system there to support individuals suffering. I want to give the full truth of what I have been through, in the hopes that I can use my story to change things within the system and show others who maybe struggling that you can get through it. Now I won't sugarcoat things, I believe by doing that I'm only adding to the harm. I will include trigger warnings on the appropriate blog posts so that I don't affect others'mental health.

Other things related to Mental Health: I also want to use this blog to bring awareness to other things such as cults and cult behaviour that have a connection to mental health, as I believe its really important that people are aware of these things so they are able to keep themselves safe. I myself have been in a community that could very much be considered a cult. So i'm aware of the affects things like that can have on people.

I hope you enjoy my content and learn something. Thanks for being here!

Beth
